My grandma's pie plate finally gave up after 35 years

Made my usual apple pie last Sunday for a family dinner and pulled that old CorningWare plate out of the oven. Heard a loud crack halfway through cooling on the counter, and the whole bottom just split clean in two. Good news was the pie itself survived on the top half, bad news was I had spilled filling all over my new stove. My grandma got that plate as a wedding gift back in 1989, so I guess 35 years of holiday pies caught up with it. Has anyone else had a favorite baking dish fail on them out of nowhere, and did you try to get it replaced or just move on?

Swap it for a good metal pan next time, way tougher than glass.
