Finally got my sourdough starter to double in size after 2 weeks of feeding

I've been trying since last month in my little apartment in Columbus, and it finally rose past the rubber band mark this morning at 4 AM. Now I'm just scared I'll mess it up when I actually bake with it this weekend... anyone else get nervous right before the first loaf?

Used to think sourdough people were just dramatic about their little science experiments. Then I killed three starters in a row and finally got one that smelled like yogurt instead of nail polish remover. Now I get it. Actually woke up at 3 AM last week to check on my dough because I was scared the bulk ferment would overproof while I was asleep. That first loaf will probably come out flat as a pancake but honestly who cares. The rubber band victory at 4 AM is its own reward.

Nah, you can just bake a decent loaf without the 3am panic checks.
