Pro tip: That $3 thrift store VHS tape of "The Room" is way better than the $20 Blu-ray

Picked up a beat-up VHS copy of The Room at Goodwill in Columbus for three bucks last weekend and the tracking issues actually ADD to the experience. Anyone else find that watching bad movies on worse formats makes them MORE fun to watch?

Dang, I used to be all about getting the cleanest HD version of everything. Thought I was above the whole scrappy VHS thing. But you guys are making me rethink it after I sat through a glitchy copy of Troll 2 on a busted CRT. The tracking errors and the hiss legit made the bad acting feel more like a shared secret, you know? Like we were really in on the joke instead of just watching a movie.

Honestly you gotta rip the tape to digital before it gets chewed up. That's what I did with my copy of Miami Connection I found at a flea market. A USB video capture card is like fifteen bucks on Amazon and saves you the headache of the tape dying mid-movie night.
