My neighbor's one comment about my fire pit changed how I set it up
She said 'you always sit facing the flames, not the yard' and I realized I built the seating in a half circle instead of a full one. Swapped the bench layout last weekend so we face each other and the yard, fires feel way more social now. Anyone else get told something obvious about their setup that stuck with them?

honestly i get where youre coming from but i think theres something to it. sitting around a fire with friends is one of the few times people actually talk without phones or tv in the way. the flames sort of give everyone something to look at so the conversation gets deeper without feeling forced. ive had nights where stuff came out around the pit that never wouldve come up at a bar or dinner table.
