Hit 100 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail and it changed my mind about resupplies
I was dead set on carrying 6 days of food at a time, thought I'd save money and time. Then I hit mile 100 near Idyllwild and realized I was hauling way too much weight for no reason. My pack was 38 pounds and my knees were screaming. Now I just do 3 day stretches and hit towns like Warner Springs instead.

The knees thanking you thing really hits home. It's wild how our bodies just let us know when we're overdoing it, isn't it? I notice this pattern everywhere now, like with people who work desk jobs and suddenly can't sit still after forty, or folks who garden all weekend then can barely walk Monday morning. Your body basically sends you a memo after you finally give it a break from the hard stuff. It's like we're all learning the same lesson the hard way, just in different packages.
