That Garmin G5000 install in a Cessna last week taught me a new wiring trick

We replaced the old avionics stack with a G5000 in a 750. One of the ARINC 429 lines kept dropping out during ground checks. Turns out the pin crimp had a tiny burr that looked fine under a magnifier but caused intermittent contact. Has anyone else had random ARINC bus issues from just one bad crimp?

Heard from a buddy at the avionics shop that burrs on ARINC pins are way more common than people think, especially on those aftermarket crimpers.

Hate seeing that, it's like the little stuff always gets overlooked until it bites you in the ass. Feels the same way with how people treat their phone chargers or laptop cables, you know, just yank them out by the cord instead of the plug and wonder why they die. Totally applies to those cheap aftermarket tools too, saving a few bucks upfront just to chase burrs and bad connections later.
