That adhesive backed wire clip hack from a 737 retrofit actually works
We were chasing a chafing issue on a fleet of 737s last month, bundled bundles rubbing against a bracket near the engine fire loop. I tried zip ties and lacing tape, but the vibration kept loosening things until I used those 3M adhesive clips with the foam base, the same ones the retrofit crew left behind. Has anyone else used them on hot sections, or did I just get lucky with our run schedule?

Man, "the vibration kept loosening things" hit home hard. We had the same fight on our MD-80s with the pneumatic duct clamps, thought I was going nuts chasing that rattle every single preflight. I'm genuinely stoked those 3M clips are working for you, especially near the fire loop, that's prime real estate for stuff to go sideways. You probably did get a bit lucky with the run schedule, but honestly, sometimes the cheap fix is the one that just sticks. Glad you found something that's holding up for now, god knows we've all been there where the zip tie decision is made at 2am.
