Parallel harnesses vs serial, finally saw the light on a bench in Tucson

Been wiring sensor arrays for 6 years and always ran them serial to save wire. Last week at a shop outside Tucson I watched a guy rewire the same setup parallel and the troubleshooting time dropped from 3 hours to maybe 20 minutes. Has anyone else switched and found the extra wire worth it for fault isolation?

Right, because who doesn't love spending three hours playing "is it the wire or is it the sensor" every single time something hiccups. Bet that Tucson guy charges double now and still gets more work. Parallel is just paying for your own sanity at this point. I'd rather buy a spool of wire than a new multimeter from throwing mine across the shop.
