My #2 VHF radio quit at 2am over Nebraska and I want to settle the coax vs connector debate
Flying freight in a beat up 208 last week when my #2 comm just went dead silent passing over Grand Island, Nebraska around 2am with a full load of checks on board. I spent 40 minutes on the ramp in Omaha pulling the tray, and it turned out to be a corroded BNC connector on the antenna end, not the radio itself. Some of the older guys at my shop swear you always start at the connector and work back, but my lead told me to bench the radio first every single time no matter what. So which camp are you in, connector first or box first, and has that order ever burned you on a squawk?
