I finally changed my mind about impact gun brands after a talk with a FleetPride guy

I was at a FleetPride in Omaha last Tuesday picking up some air dryer parts and started talking to this old timer who was grabbing a rebuild kit for a Bendix valve. He told me he's used the same Ingersoll Rand 2135 for 27 years and never once had to send it back, just regular oil and a rebuild kit every 5 years. Anyone else have their head turned by a random conversation like that, or am I just easily convinced?

Honestly that 2135 story checks out because I know a guy who runs a fleet of 30 trucks and he swears by the same model. He says the only time he ever had one fail was when a rookie dropped it off a lift and it landed on the concrete. Did the old timer mention if he uses the standard or the hog ring anvil on it? I have always wondered if the hog ring makes a real difference on those older ones or if its just a gimmick.

Tried the hog ring anvil on my old 2135 and it wasn't worth the hassle for me, @logan632. Stuck with the standard and never looked back.
