Wet sanding with a foam block changed my whole approach

I used to chase orange peel with just paper and a hard block, kept burning through clear on the edges. Tried a soft foam block from the auto paint supply in Toledo last week, and the pressure spread out way better. Anyone else had better luck with flexible backing on tricky panels?

Ha, so you discovered the foam block about ten years after the rest of us. Just kidding. Actually, I did the same thing on a fender last month and felt like an idiot for all the years I spent fighting with a hard block. The foam doesn't magically fix a bad spray job, but it sure takes the terror out of going over a body line. Now I just have to figure out how to get the foam to stop squeaking when I use it on a dry pass.
