Debated between a HVLP gun and a conventional spray gun for my first big respray. Went conventional and now I'm worried about overspray in my garage.

Got a 2000 Civic I'm painting next weekend. I was sure HVLP was the way to go since everyone talks about transfer efficiency. But the guy at the auto paint supply shop near me talked me into a conventional gun for like $80 less and said I'd get better flow with my little compressor. Now I'm reading online that conventional puts out way more mist. My garage is tight, maybe 12 by 20 feet. Am I going to fog up everything in there? Anyone else been in this spot with a small space?

Why is everyone so scared of a little extra mist? Just throw a drop cloth over your stuff and open the garage door, you'll be fine.

100% with you @luna_craig58. I did that same move last summer when I was painting my living room. Just threw a tarp over the couch and cracked the garage door a few inches. Had a box fan going and everything was bone dry in like 20 minutes. People act like a little moisture is gonna dissolve their whole house or something. It's paint spray, not a tsunami.
