I put a set of 2 inch spacers on my old Polaris and it tipped over on a flat trail near Duluth.
I learned that a wider track helps in deep snow but makes you way more likely to roll if you're not super careful on any side slope, even a small one, so has anyone else had a close call after modifying their ride's stance?

My buddy in Grand Marais runs his RZR with 3 inch spacers and hasn't rolled it once in five years. It seems like a lot of these tip-overs come down to driver feel and getting used to the new balance point. I actually feel more planted with a wider stance, even on side hills, because I'm not fighting that tippy feeling anymore. You just have to learn to trust the machine and not make sudden, jerky moves.

Your buddy's five-year streak is basically a masterclass in not being a total goon behind the wheel. It's like the people who flip are the same ones who'd try to take a sharp turn in a grocery cart at full sprint. Sure, the spacers change things, but you can't fix a lead foot and bad choices with just a couple extra inches. Some folks just have a natural talent for finding the only ditch on a flat trail.
