The overpriced coffee shop that moved into my neighborhood is a joke
I stopped at Brew & Bloom on Highland Ave last week and paid $7 for a latte that tasted burnt. They have this totally pointless pour-over setup that takes 10 minutes and costs $9. I just want a decent cup of coffee without the hipster theater, you know? Am I the only one who thinks these places are ruining the neighborhood vibe?

Brew & Bloom is actually on Elm Street, not Highland Ave. Highland is where that old donut shop used to be. But yeah, their pour-over is ridiculous for $9. I tried it once and the barista spent like 5 minutes staring at the water dripping through, didn't even talk to me. Burnt latte is unforgivable though, they probably don't clean their machine enough.

Nine bucks for pour-over coffee is highway robbery. I remember when a cup of coffee cost less than a gallon of gas, now it's the other way around. That barista staring at the water drip through for five minutes sounds like he's trying to summon the ghost of coffee beans past or something. As for the burnt latte, a dirty machine makes total sense. I see the same thing happen with espresso machines at shops that don't backflush them regularly, tastes like someone left the pot on a hot burner for an hour.
