That one clear night in Tucson made me rethink stacked photos
Spent 6 hours at Kitt Peak with a cheap 80mm scope and no tracking, just one lucky 30 second exposure of Orion, and it beat every 200-frame stack I spent 3 weeks processing, has anyone else gotten a better result from a single shot?

Ha, "one lucky 30 second exposure" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. Sounds like the universe just looked at all your hard work and said "nah, here's a freebie." I feel your pain, I spent a whole weekend stacking moon shots once and my neighbor's blurry phone pic through a window was somehow sharper. Maybe the secret is to just stop trying, honestly.
