Spent 2 hours trying to fix star trails before realizing my tripod was loose

Sat on a hill in Joshua Tree last week, convinced my tracking mount was broken, kept re-polar aligning like a fool. Turned out the quick release plate just needed a quarter turn with an Allen key, has anyone else fought their gear for ages over something that dumb?

Read an article saying 90% of astro gear problems are user error, and yeah, that tracks perfectly.
