My uncle told me to ask for a 10% raise, and I've never been more annoyed that he was correct
I laughed at my uncle Danny when he told me over Thanksgiving in 2023 to walk into my review and just ask for 10% more, because I was sure my boss would say no on the spot. I asked anyway, expecting nothing, and got 7% plus a talk about next year, which is way more than the 3% I would have gotten by keeping quiet. So now I want to know, what is the one piece of advice you ignored for way too long before finally trying it?
