Had a near miss with a stranger at the grocery store last Tuesday and it got me thinking about personal space

I was at the Kroger on Main Street around 6pm last Tuesday, just grabbing a few things for dinner. This guy came around the corner fast with his cart and nearly rammed into me because he was on his phone. I dodged just in time but he didn't even look up or say sorry. It made me realize how much people zone out in public spaces anymore. Am I the only one who thinks we've all gotten worse at being aware of others around us?

You been hit by a cart before or just had close calls? People are glued to their phones these days and totally check out of the world around them. It's like basic manners just vanished somewhere between texting and aisle 4.

Oh come on, phone checking doesn't mean you're not being AWARE of your surroundings.
