Hot take: rubbing a walnut on a scratched coffee table actually works, I fixed one in 20 minutes
Honestly I figured this was one of those internet things that never works in real life. My mom gave me her old mahogany coffee table 3 years ago and it had a white water ring plus a bunch of little scratches on top. Last Saturday I finally cracked a walnut from the bowl on my counter and rubbed the meat along the grain for about 2 minutes. Ngl the scratches basically vanished and the ring faded a lot. Then I let it sit for an hour and buffed it with a soft rag. The fix has held up for 5 days now with coffee cups and my cat walking on it. Anyone know if this works on darker stains too, or do I need to go the vinegar and oil route for those?
