The 3D scan of that turquoise mask finally convinced me it was a fake
A museum paper from the 2023 Vienna dig showed the carving marks had a tiny repeating pattern from a rotary tool, and once I saw the 40x magnification photo I stopped believing the old story.

Man, that really sucks. You get all excited about something like that and then the tech just rips the magic right out of it. Hope you get to see the real deal someday, that old story deserves a happy ending.
