Shoutout to the old-timer who showed me how to notch a tree at the Wilson Park removal
Honestly, I was ready to just make a straight cut on a big limb, but this retired guy named Pete walked over and pointed out I was about to bark pinch my saw. He showed me how to notch it just right so the limb dropped clean without binding. Now I won't even touch a limb over 6 inches without doing a proper notch first. Anyone else learn a trick from a random guy on a job site?

Did you get his name? That kind of on-the-job learning is hard to beat. I had a similar thing happen to me a few years back, a guy named Jerry watched me struggling with a heavy oak branch. He showed me how to make a small undercut first, then the top cut, and that little piece of wood popped out like a wedge. Saved my saw and my back, and now I do it every time.

Yeah @tarac16, it's wild how the best lessons always come from random strangers helping you out of nowhere.
