That old anime streaming site I spent 6 hours trying to fix

I used to use this site called AnimeVault back in 2012 for all my shows. Last week I tried to log in and it kept giving me a broken player error. I spent almost 6 hours tweaking browser settings and reinstalling Flash before I realized the site just shut down years ago. Felt pretty dumb when I finally Googled it and saw a forum post from 2018 saying it was gone. Anyone else hang onto old bookmarks way too long?

Honestly I still have this bookmark for an old fansubbing site called "AnimeLair" that I swear had the best 480p quality back in 2009. Tried clicking on it last month and it redirected me to some shady gambling ad page. Spent like 20 minutes refreshing and checking my antivirus before my roommate walked by and was like "dude that site died with dial-up." Ngl I felt about as smart as a guy trying to fix his flip phone in 2024.

Oh man, 480p wasn't even that common in 2009. Most sites were still 360p back then.

Bet it's still better than most streaming subs today though.
