That 15 minute POS update ate my whole Tuesday afternoon

Tried to run a quick software update on the card reader at my Route 66 gift shop before the lunch rush. Three hours later I was on hold with the processor while my register showed a blank screen and customers just stared at me. Finally got through to a tech who said the update was hung up on my ancient router, and he talked me through rebooting it twice. Anyone else ever have their payment system fail at the absolute worst time near 6th Street?

Same thing happened to me during a festival rush, I ended up writing orders on paper napkins for an hour.
