I read that only 10% of people who start a side project finish it

Found that stat in an old blog post from 2019 and it really surprised me. I've been overthinking launching my own podcast for months, but maybe just starting is the win. Has anyone else pushed past that initial hesitation and actually finished something?

Stupid small goal" is the real key, honestly. My version of your birdhouse pile is a half written first episode script from like three months ago. I keep opening the doc, adding one sentence, and calling it a day. At this rate my podcast intro is just going to be a heavy sigh.

Honestly, that 10% number sounds about right. I got really into building a birdhouse last spring, bought all the wood and everything. It's still just a pile of cut pieces in my garage. The trick for me was setting a stupid small goal, like "record the intro" not "launch a podcast." Once you have that first tiny piece done, it gets easier to add the next one.
