Appreciation post: I compared my old 2018 project notes to the new system I started in January.
I used to write everything down in one messy notebook, but switching to a simple digital doc where I can search for things has saved me from re-reading pages for a single detail, so am I overthinking how much structure I actually need or is this just the better way?

Honestly, that search function alone is worth the switch. Sounds like you found a system that actually works for your brain instead of fighting it. The old notebook method has a romantic vibe until you waste an afternoon hunting for one sentence. Maybe the best structure is the one you don't have to think about.

Man I had a buddy who swore by his physical bullet journal for years until he spent three hours looking for a recipe his grandma wrote down. He flipped through like five notebooks before just texting his mom for it. Digital search saved our friendship that day.

Oh man, my buddy spent a whole week trying to find his old password he'd scribbled in a margin. Digital search is a lifesaver.
