My neighbor in the North Valley swore by painting my exterior stucco in the evening, and after my first coat dried weird, I found out he was totally right about the summer heat.
Has anyone else had to redo a paint job because of our afternoon sun?

Learned that lesson painting my shed last July. Had to scrape off the whole first coat. Now I start at dawn or just wait for October.

Oh man, that's a classic valley lesson. I learned the hard way too, painting a south-facing wall at like 2 PM. The paint dried almost before the roller hit the wall, left a terrible texture. Now I only paint super early or wait until the sun is totally off the wall. That summer sun just bakes everything.
