Bought a $30 insulation blower on Craigslist and it was a total waste of time
Picked up a used insulation blower from a guy in the South Valley for cheap. Figured I could save some cash blowing cellulose into my attic myself. This thing clogged every 5 minutes, threw dust everywhere, and I ended up renting a proper one from Sunbelt for $80 to actually finish the job. Lesson learned: sometimes renting the good stuff is cheaper than owning junk. Has anyone else had luck with those cheap blowers or did I just get a dud?

Yeah you said "blew cellulose into my attic myself" and I think that's actually part of the problem right there. Cellulose is heavy and clumpy stuff compared to fiberglass. Those cheap blowers are mostly built for fiberglass which is lighter and flows easier. I've used a few different blowers and the cheap ones just can't handle the weight of cellulose without constant clogging. You're basically trying to push wet snow through a straw with one of those things. I bet if you had tried fiberglass insulation it would have worked fine but cellulose is a whole different animal. The rental from Sunbelt was probably a legit machine with a bigger motor and better feed system.

Eight hours of clogs on a Saturday. Brutal. @lane.angela nailed it though. Wrong tool for the job.
