Just walked through a Calgary show home and counted 8 light switches in one hallway

Ngl, I was checking out new builds in Aspen Woods last Saturday and found this one show home where the hallway had 8 light switches in a single row. No joke, there was a plate with 4 switches on each side of the door frame. Took me a solid 2 minutes to figure out which one turned on the ceiling light vs the accent lighting in the closet. Who needs that many options for a 12 foot hallway? Has anyone else run into this in newer Alberta homes or am I just old school with my single toggle?

Right? I hit the same thing in a Tuscany show home last month and almost needed a manual.

Right?! What is even the point of that? Last year I went to a show home in Sage Hill and counted 9 switches in a tiny mudroom. There was one switch just for a single plug by the floor. I asked the sales lady and she said it was for a future heated floor hookup. Like, just label the damn plate or something. I felt like I was piloting a spaceship just to turn on a coat closet light.

I mean, maybe it's just me but having extra options for future upgrades seems smart, not stupid.
