Was dead set against torque wrenches on spark plugs until a 737 threw a cylinder last spring

I've been turning wrenches since the late 90s and always thought I could feel when a spark plug was tight enough. Then we had a bird come back from a turn with a cylinder head cracked right at the plug hole. It was a -9 on a 737 from the old Delta fleet. The guy before me had cranked it down too hard. Now I use the Snap on torque wrench every time and haven't had an issue since. Any of you old timers ever get burned by skipping the torque spec?

Cylinder head, not cylinder. The plug hole's in the barrel.
