Tried putting a whole potato in my air fryer at 400 for an hour
The outside looked perfect but inside was still raw. Learned you gotta microwave them first or cut em up, that was a meal ruined on a Tuesday night. Anyone else fall for that?

A whole potato at 400 for an hour? That's not a ruined meal, that's a lesson in basic physics. You basically tried to cook a dense root vegetable from frozen or raw without any help. Of course the inside is going to be raw. You cut an apple in half and put it in there, it's still raw in the middle after an hour at that temp? No way, not really that serious. People act like one bad air fryer attempt is some tragedy when it's just common sense that things take longer or need pre-cooking. You'll survive, just nuke it next time or slice it thin.

Give the guy a break, a lot of people think air fryers cook stuff way faster than they actually do. A whole raw potato is basically a rock with moisture inside, no shortcut is going to change how heat works on something that dense. He learned his lesson, no need to make him feel worse about a Tuesday dinner.
