Used to think AI couldn't help with recycling, but a smart sorting system at the plant changed my mind.

Watching an AI quickly separate plastics by type made me realize how much waste we can reduce with the right tech.

My local recycling center got machines that sort glass by color. They use light sensors to tell brown glass from clear. This made the recycled glass cleaner and more valuable. The plant says they sell it faster now.

In my area, they just toss all glass into one bin without sorting. @oliviar65, that tech sounds neat but is color separation really that huge for recycling? Most glass ends up melted together anyway so I don't see the big deal. Cleaner glass might sell faster, but it seems like a small step for the whole system. Those light sensor machines must cost a ton of money for what might be a tiny improvement. Honestly, this feels like making a simple process way more complicated than it needs to be!
