Tried using a leaf blower on my rain gutters and that was a mistake

So I was up on my roof last Saturday morning, using my little handheld blower to clear out the gutters like I always do. Got a bunch of wet leaves flying everywhere, but then I knocked a section of gutter loose from the downspout. Ended up having to call my buddy Dave who owns a handyman service to come fix it, cost me $85 just for the bracket and his time. Idk, I think I'm gonna invest in one of those gutter scoop tools from Canadian Tire and just do it by hand from now on, less drama. Has anyone else had a leaf blower backfire on them like that?

Dave from down the street had the exact same thing happen with his gas blower last spring, left him with a gap in his downspout for weeks. I switched to a garden hose with a spray nozzle attachment after a similar disaster, works way better for wet leaves and you can flush the gutters out without knocking things loose. Mark_smith59, your comment about changing your mind real quick is spot on, it's one of those lessons you only need to learn once. The gutter scoop is a solid investment too, my neighbor swears by hers and she's never had a bracket pop off since.
