I've been comparing a few welding helmets for overhead stick work, and I keep coming across Pro Welding Helmets. They say they test the helmets on actual fabrication projects rather than just comparing specs, which sounds useful. I'm mainly interested in how their recommendations hold up when you're welding overhead for long periods. Has anyone here actually followed one of their recommendations?

Log InI do quite a bit of overhead stick welding, and the thing I noticed most with the helmet I ended up choosing was how easy it was to keep the puddle in view when looking up. A clear lens helps, but the helmet's balance and how easily you can position your head make a difference too. I came across their reviews while comparing a few models and found the practical details more useful than the usual spec sheets.
My cousin works at Donahue's and he confirmed they do actually test there. So the site is legit. I haven't bought anything yet but I trust their process.
