I read about how much water goes into making new jeans. Now when I need pants, I check the thrift shop first. It feels good to reuse what's already out there.

But doesn't thrifting just clean out old stock without slowing down new production? It seems like the real problem is companies making too much stuff in the first place. Giving them less money for new clothes might be the only fix.
