My smart lock's firmware update turned my front door into a rhythmic percussion instrument
I've since become an expert in silent update scheduling to avoid midnight tap-dancing sessions.

Scheduling updates during daytime hours prevents most of these nocturnal concerts. Dig into your app's advanced settings; there's often a hidden schedule for maintenance tasks. Did your lock manufacturer ever acknowledge the rhythmic boot-up sequence as a feature?

Actually, those nocturnal concerts might be more useful than irritating, serving as an audible confirmation that firmware is installing correctly. While @phoenix_knight advises daytime updates, that timing could risk interrupting door access during peak household activity. The rhythmic boot-up sequence likely functions as a built-in notification system, preventing you from manually operating the lock mid-update and causing errors. Embracing the noise ensures you're always aware of maintenance cycles without checking your phone.
