Months of dead ends on the Voynich manuscript, but today I noticed a pattern.
Connecting the floral illustrations to medieval herbals totally unlocked it for me.

Oh man, the herbal link is a classic starting point (everyone goes there first). But even if some drawings match known plants, that doesn't explain the weird text or the overall point of the book. You could be right about the pictures, but then you hit the real wall, the writing itself. It feels like finding one puzzle piece and still having the whole box left to go.
