Just a thought: are we all using the same design inspiration and not realizing it?

I mean, I was browsing through some portfolios and they all had similar layouts and fonts. It's kinda scary how uniform everything is getting. Maybe it's just me, but I think we need to dig deeper for unique stuff. Like, check out art from different cultures or even street signs for new ideas.

What about looking at patterns in nature, like tree bark or leaf veins? When my work started feeling stale, I began sketching from things like cracked pavement and woven baskets. Those organic lines led me to create more uneven, interesting layouts. I stopped relying on popular design sites for a while. Instead, I visited a local history museum and studied old hand-drawn maps. That shift helped me see spacing and decoration in a totally new way.

Oh wow, that museum idea is so good! My grandma had these old curtains with faded floral prints, and I used to stare at the way the vines curled around when I was bored. Totally stole that lazy, wandering line for a logo once and it just felt more alive than anything I made on the computer. There's something about real stuff your eyes can follow that just beats scrolling forever.

Your method reminds me of that book on organic design, @linda_hunt21.
