How my quick sketch habit improved my client interactions
In my experience, freelancing can leave you feeling on edge before client conversations. I picked up a sketchpad one day and began drawing simple lines and circles. Now, I do this for a few minutes before every call. It helps me shake off nerves and focus better. I don't try to draw anything fancy, just whatever comes to mind. This small act has become a key part of my day. I even suggest it to other freelancers who struggle with anxiety. Your mileage may vary, but it's worth a shot.

Wait you do this before EVERY call? Like even the quick five minute check-ins? I would forget half the time lmao. I tried something like that once but gave up after two days because my brain is just too scattered. The idea of having that kind of discipline is actually wild to me.

What about those fidget cubes everyone had for a while? I knew someone who'd use one under the desk during calls...

@bethl95, totally get what you mean about those fidget cubes. They were such a big help for staying focused during long calls or boring meetings. Like, clicking the buttons or spinning the dials under the desk just kept your hands busy so your mind could pay attention. I knew folks who would use them during exams or even while watching TV to calm down. It's funny how such a small thing could make a HUGE difference for some people. Really shows that everyone has their own way to handle stress or boredom.
