That time a joking comment about core shift turned into a real argument on the floor
We were cleaning up after a cast when I pointed out a minor shift in a mold as a dumb joke, but the guy who made it took it serious and got defensive. Now half the shop thinks calling out small flaws even in fun hurts teamwork, while others say it's how we catch real issues early. It got awkward fast because we usually rib each other all day. Do you think loose talk about work mistakes helps or just starts fights?

Totally been there with the shop floor tension. Found it works better to pull someone aside for real critiques, saves the jokes for stuff that doesn't matter.

I read a study last week that said public criticism, even as a joke, can backfire, which @claire_moore might agree with.
