Kid's sandcastle sparked a thought about our casting molds

I was at the park with my kid yesterday, watching her build sandcastles. She packed the sand so evenly, it made me wonder if we're missing something in our mold-making steps. Does anyone use natural packing methods for better mold consistency?

Yeah, but that "evenly packed sand" falls apart if you breathe on it. We need molds that hold up way better than a kid's sandcastle.
