Why does nobody talk about the awkward silence with inspectors?
Inspectors pointing out flaws with sellers present creates an awkward tension.

Hey, that part about feeling the anger and embarrassment is so real. Did the inspector try to lighten the mood after, or did everyone just stew in it? I've had times where the inspector makes a joke, but it can backfire and make things more awkward. What ended up happening with the wiring issue after that silent minute?

Absolutely! That silence is the worst part of home inspections. My inspector once pointed out faulty wiring while the seller was standing right there, and nobody said a word for a full minute. You could just feel the anger from the seller and the embarrassment in the room. It totally changes the vibe of the whole day!

Was it just me or does that silence feel super loud? I had an inspector find a cracked heat exchanger with the old owners right there, and the wife looked like she was gonna cry. The husband just stared at the floor. We all just stood around the furnace not knowing where to look. It completely killed the friendly chat we had going before that. Makes you want to just vanish into the floorboards.
