My quiet Tuesday with the last episode of 'The Americans'

I finally watched the series finale last week, on a rainy afternoon. The garage scene, with the train rolling by, just sat with me for hours. It felt like a goodbye to a whole way of telling spy stories, more about a broken family than any mission. Does anyone else find that some endings just feel heavier now than they did ten years ago?

Actually finished that finale when it first aired. That was back in 2018. Still hits just as hard now though.

The finale actually aired in early 2019, not 2018. I remember because I had just moved into my new apartment that winter. The show wrapped filming in 2018, but the last episode didn't hit screens until the next year. It's an easy mix-up with all the production news back then. That time jump still gets me every single time.
