I used to hate sad endings until The Leftovers season 3

I was at my buddy's apartment in Austin last month watching the series finale. That scene where Nora tells her story on stage completely changed my mind about ambiguous endings. I always wanted everything tied up neat before that moment.

On stage" is the part that gets me every time. You're saying that one performance changed your whole view on endings?

Man, that's exactly how it was for me but with a different show. Saw this band called Murder by Death play their whole album "Who Will Survive" front to back in this tiny theater. They had a guy playing cello and the lights were all moody and it felt like we were all in some dark folk tale together. I walked out of there feeling different about how stories end, like closure ain't always wrapping things up neat, sometimes it's just sitting with the feeling for a while.
