Silk charmeuse was a nightmare until I tried a walking foot
Honestly, I avoided silk charmeuse for like two years because every project ended up puckered and crooked. I thought people were just making excuses about it being slippery or whatever. Then my sewing buddy basically forced me to borrow her walking foot for a blouse I was making. Ngl, it completely changed how the fabric fed through my machine, no more layers shifting around. I used a size 70 sharp needle and some wonder clips too, and the seams actually laid flat for once. The blouse was a black floral print that took me about 6 hours total, and it came out way better than anything I'd practiced before. Has anyone else fought with slippery fabrics until they found the right presser foot setup?

That walking foot is a game changer for sure. I use a size 70 microtex needle with mine and it handles silk charmeuse like butter with zero slipping.

Disagree actually - I've had way better luck with a size 60 for charmeuse, the 70 leaves dimples on mine.
