Just saw a local designer's collection go from amazing to kind of boring in like 6 months

I followed this new designer from Austin who made these cool patchwork jackets with recycled denim. Her first drop sold out in a day. But her new stuff just looks like plain, boxy blazers you can get anywhere. I think she got a deal with a big online store and had to make things faster and cheaper. Has anyone else seen a designer change their whole style after getting popular?

Eh, happens all the time though. That first collection was probably a huge passion project she spent months on. Now she has to actually make a living and fill orders. Those simple blazers probably sell way easier to a bigger crowd than one-of-a-kind jackets. It's just business, not really selling out.

David's take is way too forgiving. Calling it "just business" ignores that her whole brand was built on being unique and sustainable. She traded her original vision for easy money from that big store deal. Those boring blazers prove she's more interested in mass sales than making cool stuff.
