Lost a whole afternoon to a 'quick fix' hoof patch that failed

Tried that new Flex-Seal Hoof Patch on a client's quarter horse in Tucson last week... the ad said it sets in 30 minutes. After 2 hours it was still tacky and the horse kicked it off walking back to the paddock. Had to re-clean the hoof and do a proper acrylic fill, costing me $80 in wasted product and 4 hours of my day. Anyone know a reliable temporary patch for a wet climate?

Oh man, that's rough. I've found those quick-set patches really need a perfectly dry, clean hoof to work, which is almost impossible in a wet climate. For a real temporary fix here in Florida, I've had better luck with the Equi-Pak Fast Set, but you have to mix it super fast and hold pressure for a full minute. Even then, it's only good for maybe 48 hours of turnout.

I used to swear by the regular Equi-Pak until I tried the Fast Set last spring. Holding that pressure for the full minute is a pain, but you're right, it actually stays put in the mud for a couple days.
