Had a customer tell me my shoes were "too shiny" for his horse... at a barrel race in Wyoming

Maybe it's just me but I remember reading somewhere that horses can actually get spooked by real bright or reflective stuff. Not saying everyone's gotta dress for the horse's comfort but idk maybe the guy had a point in his own weird way. Jospeh529 is right though the horse definitely doesn't care about your shoes being shiny on its own. My buddy's gelding freaks out if he sees his own reflection in a puddle so I could see a super shiny shoe being a problem if the horse caught a glimpse. Still a weird thing to call someone out on at a barrel race though.

Shiny shoes at a barrel race? Some people sure find the oddest things to get worked up about. Pretty sure the horse doesn't care what your shoes look like.
