Just realized I've been steaming facials way too close this whole time

Tbh I've been holding my steamer like 6 inches from clients faces for like 2 years. I had this one client with rosacea who kept getting redder after treatments and I couldn't figure out why. Last week my mentor watched me work and was like 'girl back that thing up to 12 inches minimum.' Now my extractions are way easier and nobody's face is turning into a tomato. Anyone else have a basic technique they just never unlearned from school?

Same here lol learned my steamer was way too close after years of doing it wrong.

haha you know what, I actually used to think people were being dramatic about it. I'd steam my clothes from like 6 inches away and wonder why they'd come out wet and still wrinkled. Took me watching a random YouTube video to realize I was basically doing it all wrong. Now I hold it way back and let the steam do the work. Total game changer once you figure that out.
