Changed my mind about using generic thermal paste after a client's PS5 kept overheating
A regular customer in Austin brought his console back twice with the same shutdown issue, and another tech at the shop told me the cheap paste I was using dried out too fast under heavy load. I switched to Arctic MX-6 for all my console repastes last month and haven't had a single callback since. What's your go-to paste for gaming consoles these days?

Honestly, switching pastes after one bad batch seems like an overreaction. I've used plenty of generic pastes on consoles and PCs for years without issues. The problem lane.angela mentioned is usually from applying it wrong, like using too little. If it's drying out fast, that console probably had another problem, like a clogged heatsink or a faulty fan. I stick with the cheap stuff because it works fine if you know what you're doing.
