Replaced a panel in a 1950s house, the difference in the old wiring was wild
Pulled out a Federal Pacific panel in a place over in Maplewood last month and the bus bars were half melted, but the homeowner said they only had flickering lights for two years. Swapped in a new 200 amp with proper grounding and AFCI breakers, and the voltage readings at the farthest outlet went from 108 to 121 steady. Has anyone else seen that kind of hidden damage just from old stab-lok connections, or was this place just extra unlucky?
